Successful business adapt to changing conditions and the demands of their customers. Beauty Full Time, the cosmetic, fragrance and beauty essentials shop on Marlborough High Street is changing the way it works.
Their newly developed website aims to offer the same level of contact and advice that the shop was able to provide in person before. Lots of make-up advice, new & back in stock videos, photographs and competitions, all accessible via the new site as well as YouTube, FaceBook and Instagram.
And a free local home delivery service.
Megan Bromley, owner of the shop since 2014, said, “I had been developing a website to work alongside the shop for a long time. Although it wasn’t quite ready we launched it prematurely seven days before the lockdown, fearing the worst.
So really we never stopped trading fully. Local customers have been very supportive and in return I have offered a free delivery service so customers don’t have to pay postage on their items – knock, drop and run obviously. This includes Devizes, Market Lavington, Urchfont, Chirton, Marden, Woodborough, Alton Barnes, Honeystreet, Lockeridge, and Marlborough.”
There is free postage for customers further afield on orders over £50.
Megan and her team have also been offering advice on make-up techniques and skincare routines for those working from home during lockdown. The videos, which can be found on YouTube, explain how to do your make-up in a shorter time-frame using affordable products. Other videos detail new product and back in stock arrival information.
Megan commented, “Our best selling items have been Decleor skincare and high SPF for the face, dry shampoo, false eyelashes, eyelash Glue, nail treatments, and cotton pads as well as lots of makeup!”
She says that the lockdown is a great excuse to practise a new look and to experiment but it’s important not neglect skincare.
Customers have shown their appreciation of the online shopping process on Facebook with positive reviews. “Fabulous service in these difficult lock down times. All products were available and matched the descriptions laid out online. The ordering process was very fast with contact made under an hour of online purchase. I will definitely be making more orders and visiting once all shops return to normality!”
When the shop is allowed to reopen Megan will put a collection system in place. Customers will be able to order online and book a collection slot at a time suitable for them. The order will be packed up and awaiting collection to minimize the amount of time spent in the shop.
