I don't know about you, but I love a good cleansing balm. There's something toatally luxurious about it, and it makes cleansing feel less like a chore and more like a spa experience.
If you are already deep in cleansing balm heaven, or you are sitting on the fence about making the purchase, here are 4 ways you can use it in your skincare routine.
1. Removing your makeup in the evening. Cleansing balm literally melts away any makeup, SPF, and pollution from your face. It is a joy to do, plus it can work for those who do and for those who don't like using water to cleanse. I like to rinse off my cleansing balm with warm water, however, you can use a warm flannel or cloth to remove it too.
2. It is also a really effective product for cleansing your skin in the morning. Especially if you have drier skin, or your skin is drier in the winter months (like mine). I generally use a cleansing balm in the morning for most of the winter months as I find my usual facial wash too drying.
3. Face mask favourite. If you are feeling like you need a hydration boost and your skin is dry or feeling temporarily dehyrated, it is the perfect face mask. Leave on for 10 minutes and remove as explained above. If your skin is a little more combination with dry and oily areas, apply the cleansing balm to the dry areas only and use a more suitable mask on the oily areas (multi-masking).
4. Use as your Gua Sha, or massage medium. Cleansing balm is the perfect texture for Gua Sha and facial massage. It gives you the perfect amount of slip and mimics professional products that are intended exactly for this use.
Who knew your cleansing balm was so versatile? My favourite is the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. I love the texture and the smell, but you can use these tips with any cleansing balm you like.
