I am as sad as you are! The news officially broke last month about the cease of production of Decleor.
As a Decleor customer myself, It was difficult not to notice the gradual decline of product availablitly across retailers and salons in the UK. As well as lots of 'sold out' banners on the Decleor official website. The sudden disappearance of the Decleor UK Instagram seemed like a slight clue.
Even now, if you look at the Decleor Paris Instagram - there's not been a post since late September and there are plenty of people asking what is happening with the brand. There is no official post or response from Decleor Paris on the Instagram, just a few 'we have sent you a private message' responses.
Decleor.co.uk has no announcement banner or FAQ section for anyone asking what is happening with the brand. Considering the last day of trading is 31.12.23, I was hoping for a little bit more detail, a longer explaination, or at least a thank you.
Now to try and work out which products to choose now all of your Decleor favourites will be discontinued! I have been trying out new brands and will share with you what I think measures up.
If you loved the Decleor Micellar Cleansing Oil the Elemis Omega Cleansing oil is a great alternative. Or you will love the Elemis Cleansing Balm. Decleor made great balms and the Elemis cleansing balm is a fantastic example. It is an effective cleanser for all skin types and can be used as a face mask.
The classic Decleor Neroli toner can be replaced with either Elemis Apricot or Ginseng toners, or the Clarins Hydrating Toning Lotion will work well too. The Clarins Toning Lotion can also be found in a 400ml size which is great value.
If you were a fan of the Decleor cleansing milk the Clarins Velvet Cleansing Milk is a great alternative.
When it comes to face cream, if you liked the Neroli Bigarade, Green Mandarin, Lavander Iris or Magnolia the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is a perfect alternative. You can choose from the original Marine Cream, an SPF30 version, or an ultra rich version for drier skins. There are also some various size options too.
Considering Decleor's prices increased so much in the last three years, the Elemis Marine Cream is good value in comparison. For example, the Neroli Bigarade Cream 50ml has and RRP of £66.00. This is a beautiful cream, but is not considered part of the anti-ageing range, which would mean it is one of the more reasonable Decleor day creams. Elemis Marine Cream 50ml does retail at £94.00, however you can grab it for £65.00 here.
The other like for like option from Elemis is the Marine Oil. This is a great replacement for the Neroli, Lavender, or Magnolia aromessence oil serums. Even the neroli oil (the cheaper of the oils) now has an RRP of £66.00. The Elemis Marine oil is available here for under £50.00 for the same volume.
A sad day, Decleor has been such a lovely brand to use personally and professionally. Whenever I used the Neroli oil/balm on a client during a facial, without fail they would always ask 'what is that?'. We had better get used to life without it!
