What has happened to Clarins Beauty Flash Balm?
The cult favourite Beauty Flash Balm has been a staple in our makeup bags for years. It's brightening, tightening, soothing and smoothing powers have earned it cult status and many awards over the years. A price point of £33 hasn't been too unreasonable either, considering how long it lasts and it's 50ml size. Not forgetting it could also be used as a face mask 2 or 3 times per week.
However, the best-selling radiance boosting skin balm is about to get an upgrade (along with a couple of additions). As with the original Cleansing Milks and Toning Lotions in late 2020/ early 2021, Beauty Flash Balm has undergone a formula and packaging update. This will keep Beauty Flash Balm in line with the responsible beauty mission to ensure packaging is recyclable, a higher percentage of ingredients are of a more natural origin and the brand is more sustainable as a whole. If the original Beauty Flash Balm is a necessity in your skincare routine then you'll need to stockpile, immediately!
The reformulated Beauty Flash Balm will have 96% natural origin ingredients. It contains Acerola seed extract to boost radiance and give the skin a natural glow, a plant based anti-pollution complex and prickly pear extract to encourage skin cell renewal. Of course, it is also tightening and smoothing thanks to a trio of organic Oat sugars, Aloe Vera extract and Marrubus extract. As with the original formula it can be applied to the face and neck in a thin layer, without massaging in. It can be used alone, combined with skincare, or mixed with makeup. It can also be used as a mask applying a thicker layer, leaving on for 10 minutes and removing. It looks like the new RRP will be around £40 for 50ml.
Now to look at the additions. There will also be a Beauty Flash Peel. In short, this is a resurfacing/ exfolating face mask. Containing Salicylic and Glycolic Acids to minimise pores, smooth skin texture, brighten the complexion, minimise wrinkles and remove dead skin. Ultimately revealing a brighter and more radiant skin with consistent use. The peel can be applied easily with the applicator brush, left on for 10 minutes and removed by rinsing. RRP £43.
Finally the Clarins Resculpting Flash Roller RRP £40. Face rollers and Gua Sha have been rising in popularity in recent months, here clarins have combined the two. You can incorporate the benefits of both facial massage tools into your routine. Facial massage is beneficial for lymphatic drainage, this helps reduce fluid held on the face resulting in a less puffy appearance. Facial massage can also reduce tension in the facial muscles, making you feel more relaxed, especially around the jaw and forehead. Blood flow is also stimulated during facial massage resulting in a much desired post massage glow.
Our old friend is changing, for the better long term. However, it's rare that a new formulation keeps all the original fans. I will be open to trying the new Beauty Flash but I am deffo over here stockpiling the OG #lifetimesupply.
